About the job:

We are looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer thirsty for knowledge and passionate about I.O.T/cloud services integration. You will play a key role in shaping the DevOps culture, and processes, and owning the development and production environments and their operating tools. If you are a fast learner, passionate about development operations/SaaS agnostic cloud server stacks, and cloud services (AWS), and enjoy designing, developing, and mastering languages (such as Bash, Python, JS), figuring out what makes development environments tick, building deployment/continuous integration tools, and want to make a difference in an innovative company, come work with us!

What you will be doing:

  • Building highly flexible & scalable systems with a start-up mentality to enable exceptional company growth.
  • Cloud-based security architecture/design.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer.

  • Solid understanding of ECS, Docker, and Terraform.
  • Ability and drive to self-learn new technologies
  • Excellent development abilities in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python, JS, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases.
  • Advantage: Experience with implementing CI/CD and automation in a complex environment.
  • Advantage: Experience in monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, DataDog, Grafana, etc.).

What you will be doing:
This role is your chance to be a key player in a growing company, working closely with clients to revolutionize the construction industry. As a Senior Sales Executive, you will be tasked with increasing Versatile’s market share by expanding our reach within existing and new accounts and ensuring strategic alignment with key stakeholders.

  • Sales Cycle Management: Oversee the entire sales process from prospecting to account management, building and nurturing strong relationships with potential and existing clients. Be comfortable with prospecting, outbound activities, and developing existing accounts.
  • Quota Achievement: Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets within prospective accounts. Effectively manage your pipeline and execute planned activities to drive revenue growth.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and execute customer strategies aligned with client preferences and business goals. Drive sales of pilot programs and Master Service Agreements (MSAs), ensuring seamless implementation and delivery.
  • Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities while nurturing existing accounts. Build and manage relationships with senior decision-makers, including VPs, to drive long-term growth.
  • Sales Execution: Lead the sales process from initial contact to deal closure, focusing on selling into the construction industry. Implement go-to-market strategies within your territory, creating and executing sales activity plans on an annual, quarterly, and weekly basis.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Prioritize customer needs concerning sales opportunities, ensuring satisfaction throughout the entire project lifecycle. Tenaciously follow through on all customer-related tasks.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay informed about industry trends, actively participate in industry networks, and represent your company at events to build and expand business connections.
  • Work Environment Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating resilience, agility, and a strong desire to achieve success.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of sales experience, with a proven track record of selling to senior-level executives, including VPs.
  •  3+ years of sales experience specifically within the construction industry.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong communication, presentation, selling, and negotiation skills. 
  • Experience working with HubSpot.
  • Ability to integrate into a fast-paced, data-driven culture.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to sales.

Salary Range: 

  • $140,000 – $160,000. Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, prior performance, and geographic location.
Director of Data & Research (Hands-On)

Versatile is a construction tech company that aims to help customers use data and insight to revolutionize their industry. As such, you will lead a core pillar in materializing our vision and building it for the future. The position will include building, strengthening, and scaling a multidisciplinary group of Data Scientists, Data and BI engineers, and data analysts.
You will be a member of our R&D leadership forum and report directly to our VP of R&D.

Most of your time will go towards people management, technical leadership, cross-functional alignment and communication, and enhancing our culture of excellence. You will technically direct the work of people in your group, act as a technical escalation point, and feel comfortable stepping in and making hands-on individual contributions when needed.

You will constantly balance between your passions for leading people and facilitating their personal growth, your impact-driven mindset, and your desire to ship a product that makes a real difference and caters to the needs of our users and our business, and your passion for spreading out your technical proficiency.

  What you will be doing:
  • On the people management side – you will lead Data and BI engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. You’ll mentor and work with your team members to build their personal and professional work paths.
  • As a leader, you will demonstrate strong technical leadership based on your hands-on experience and proficiency. Your technical background and experience may rest more on the Data Engineering side with some level of previous exposure to Data Science, or vice versa. You will translate data science needs into data platform requirements.
  • On the technical leadership side, you will direct the work of others and review architecture, design, and code. You will also work with your people to build, groom, and advance a technical backlog, maintain a balance between product progress and technical excellence, and act as an escalation point for making technical decisions.
  • Up to 30% of your time will be dedicated to technical contributions, such as feature planning, architecture and design, and the occasional code contribution.
  • On the cross-function side, you will work closely with our product managers as an empowered unit to cater to our users’ needs and progress our business KPIs. You will also work closely with other team leads to improve alignment and visibility and ensure we ship often and early.
  • You will also work closely with all extended team members – engineers (devs and QA), product, UX, program managers, operations, management, etc.- to ensure we continuously learn, improve, and drive our product and engineering organization to excellence. Your team’s Definition of done will always be driven by the fact that their work lies in the hands of users and impacts the company’s goals.
Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Data Science.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience leading and mentoring developers and engineers as a Manager (Team Lead or over) or Architect. The ideal candidate will have already led a team of 5 multidisciplinary individual contributors or more.
  • At least 2 years of technical proficiency in leading engineering work over one of the significant commercial data platforms/data lakes (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • The ideal candidate will have either built, released, and iterated over significant DS solutions or has led the implementation and adoption of a platform in an existing R&D department.
  • Experience catering heavily to algorithmic and ML initiatives through direct leadership of teams that have built and deployed models to production environments or through closely servicing such teams.
  • A proven track record of managing complex data projects through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Experienced with participating in architecture discussion forums, where questions of domain ownership are discussed, and solutions are set out to use data platforms, micro-services, or cloud-native solutions per-need basis. Experience with AWS is preferred.
  • An academic degree in quantitative fields such as Computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or parallel work experience. Candidates whose academic background was in other scientific fields, and whose career path has led them toward Data Science will also be considered.
  • A strong product and business-driven mentality and substantial experience in acting as the technical counterpart in an empowered team.
  • Experienced with high event architectures, previous experience with Kafka is a plus.

 

Full-Stack Team Lead (Hands-On)

As a hands-on team lead you will be leading 5-6 people and act as the frontline manager for one of our core engineering teams.
You will be a member of our R&D leadership forum and report directly to our VP of R&D.

Most of your time will go towards people management, technical leadership, cross-functional alignment and communication, and enhancing our culture of excellence, while you will still spend some of your time making hands-on individual contributions.

  • Upwards of 6 years of experience as a full-stack developer, writing code across the stack.

  • At least 2 years of experience with building Node.js applications in TypeScript.
  • Previous experience with React is a plus.
  • Experience in planning and implementing scalable microservices architectures over cloud platforms, AWS is preferred.
  • Experience in crafting, creating, and utilizing RESTful APIs.
  • Experienced with planning and maintaining features with complex data persistence needs using relational DBs.
  • Experienced with highly event-driven architectures, previous experience with Kafka is a plus.
  • A strong product mindset and substantial experience in acting as the technical counterpart in an empowered team.
